This show was the last of his 2 NYC appearances at webster hall, show was amazing as usual and he even gave yogi a haircut! he must have lost a bet on that one
This was a great show a 3 hour set what more can you expect, OK this is the last Chris Cornell Blog Entry
Well I came across a chance to go to the Chris Cornell show a little early before the one next week in NYC. 9pm The Borgata for his new album scream, should be fun to see. Going to head down in the afternoon and hit up some texas hold em before show hopefully it wont be too much of a monsoon going down there from queens but were troopers. well post some pics and vids if i get the chance to take it.
Well, I will write about what im currently listening to at the moment. The new Chris Cornell Album “Scream” . It is being played on repeat for the last month by my wife whom loves Chris Cornell since she was 12. Now I was never really a big fan of Soundgarden when they were big in the 90’s ( more into the Alice and Chains) even though they were similar Just liked a few songs from soundgarden like “outshined” rusty cage” and a few others.
Well when i heard the new Chris Cornell Album Scream it felt like I was listening to Justin Timberlake or something. He worked with Timbaland on the album and it played a huge impct in the style of it. It is like officially a pop album targeted to a younger crowd. I think they are trying to make him a sex symbol to another generation and think that is sort of wierd to do. He should have done this a long time ago i feel and probably didnt have the chance or time to do so, maybe it is because of his new wife or something.
The songs are quite catchy and really showcase his voice and he can basically sing anything and I respect Chris Cornell, and I actually like some songs more than soundgarden, there are some cheesy lyrics added in (probably influenced by Timbaland ) Like meeting up in the club, or saying she was just a fling and it didnt mean a thing, LOL Come on is this the same Chris Cornell that sang I got up feeling so down ?!?!
I give this Chris Cornell album a 7/10 just because of the lyrics the singing is brilliant and his voice is amazing as always but hopefully next one he will choose his lyrics more carefully instead of just trying to sound catchy. I loved his first solo album Euphoria Morning that is a 10/10 and I know it doesnt pay releasing the same sounding album, change is good and I will be checking Chris Cornell out when he Hits up the club in Webster Hall , NYC Next month with Timbaland at the DJ I think. Should Be Great!!!!!
